A 3-Week Parent Coaching Intensive
Small changes in how we parent can create more opportunities for our kids to grow.
Do you feel like you’re constantly reminding your child about things they should be able to manage on their own?
Maybe you’re tired of repeating yourself. You step in because it’s easier than waiting for something to get done. Or you find yourself wondering how to help your child become more responsible and independent without creating another power struggle.
This three-week intensive starts with a different question:
Instead of asking, “How do I get my child to change?”
What if we started with, “What can I do differently?”
Over three weeks, you’ll learn practical ways to shift how you remind, communicate, support, and respond so your child has more opportunities to think, problem-solve, take responsibility, and become increasingly capable.
Is This Series for You?
This series may be a good fit if:
- You find yourself thinking about your child’s homework, schedule, belongings, or responsibilities more than they are—often stepping in, solving the problem, or taking over just to get things done.
- Conversations meant to help frequently end in defensiveness, frustration, power struggles, or your child shuts down.
- You want to give your child more independence, but you’re not always sure when to help and when to step back.
- You want your child to become a critical thinker and problem-solver rather than always looking to you for the answer.
- You want your child to be more confident in their ability to make decisions, solve problems, and initiate to handle things for themselves.
You don’t have to choose between helping your child and expecting them to figure everything out on their own.
What Can Begin to Change?
From repeated reminding → to greater responsibility
From frustration and resistance → to more intentional communication and connection
From stepping in, taking over, and telling them what to do → to providing support that creates space for them to think critically and problem-solve
From managing → to helping your child develop greater capability, confidence, and independence
The Three-Week Intensive
Week 1 — Rethinking Reminders
Am I taking responsibility that belongs to my child?
We’ll look at the cycle of reminding, repeating, and eventually taking over. You’ll begin identifying where you may be carrying responsibility that belongs to your child and where you can start stepping back.
We’ll also talk about children who genuinely need more support with attention, organization, remembering, or follow-through. The goal isn’t simply to remind less—it’s to determine what kind of support your child actually needs while helping them take greater ownership.
Week 2 — Communicate with Confidence
How can I communicate in a way that creates connection rather than resistance?
Parents and kids aren’t always speaking the same language. What we intend as helping may feel like criticism. A reminder may feel like nagging. Concern may feel like pressure.
We’ll look at how your communication is being received and practice ways to listen, respond, and communicate more intentionally—creating greater connection and reducing resistance and power struggles.
Week 3 — Cultivating Capability
How do I change my role so my child has opportunities to think, problem-solve, make decisions, and become more capable?
We’ll bring everything together by looking at when your child truly needs your help—and when they may benefit more from having you step back.
You’ll learn how to create space for your child to think, help them problem-solve without solving the problem for them, and provide support without taking over.
Confidence grows through experiences that allow a child to discover: “I can handle this.”
